 Track 12. "Playaz Blues"

Produced by: Bill Jackson-Vendetta Jean Jacques.

Featuring guest Hip Hop artist’ D. Labrie, and guest vocalist Rufus Wonder.

“Playaz Blues” is the roller-coaster ride of a young procurer of females who finally meets his match. Rufus reminds  us that a playah’s life don’t last through thick and thin. Wonder, what the hell are you talkin’ about, O G?

Rapper PUP (People Under Pressure) spat funky rhymes on the track “For Self-Respect And Fair Play”. PUP is a wonder. You, too,  Jam ‘G. Rick Alexander buttered the groove on the song “ Hey, Sexy Lady” with his romantic bass “sweeteners”. Hear me, girls? Rapper Eye Que spat “Stitched To Your Hip” rap lines on “Tell Me So”  You  sho nuff threw down, Son.

P.S.

Dear Mr. B.B. King:

I used a line or two from your smash hit “You Upset Me, Baby”.  “Like being hit by a falling tree, woman, what you do to me” enhanced the story on  “Hey, Sexy Lady”. Hope you like this composition. After all, you inspired the story, Sir.

From his album: (STITCHED TO YOUR HIP)

“FOR SELF-RESPECT And FAIR PLAY”

Legendary songwriter/vocalist Rufus Wonder has charmed, bedazzled and delighted our ears again with his instant mega-bomb called "For Self-Respect And Fair Play".

"For Self-Respect and Fair Play" is a song that says it all! Amid the uncontrolled violence and accumulated stress of everyday living, the song screams what society needs to hear, needs to know!!!! Listen closely to Rufus Wonder's hard-hitting "right now" lyrics.

"Don't let nothing get you down", the infectious hook line of the song, has swiftly become a 21st Century anthem for the world on "For Self-Respect And Fair Play!"

Producer Jam ‘G (J. R. Tall) Tall's funky bass line, the fanatical spoken word shouts of Rapper PUP (People Under Pressure) and Jam ‘G (J. R. Tall), the profound lyrics and soulful voice of Rufus Wonder, all combine to create the Bay Area's latest and greatest hit: "For Self-Respect And Fair Play"

As you shake yo' booty and boogie to the powerful groove of "For Self Respect And Fair Play", take the great Rufus Wonder's sage advice and "don't let nothing get you down”, either!!!!! Liner notes By Jimmy Guy.

 “FOR SELF-RESPECT And FAIR PLAY”
It’s becoming more common to hear upbeat messages in rap music, defying the usual down-and-dirty lyrics. (Even Bill Cosby has a "positive" rap album out, and there’s no mention of Jell-O pudding pops at all!)

Here are a couple from some unusual sources — one from a ‘60s soul legend, and the other from an award-winning "gangsta-lit" mystery writer.

Singer-songwriter Rufus Wonder of Oakland is best known for his soul hits "Under the Moon" and "So Upset." Once a rising star, Wonder’s career took different paths. But when he lost his sight about 10 years ago, his focus returned to music. Now, instead of love songs or soulful ballads, he wants to share sentiments of peace. His latest single, "For Self Respect and Fair Play".

"Let us all stand tall. Tight knit, and in unity. Peace, love and respect, throughout the community. Be proud in our quest for justice and fair play, and in all things that are positive, to make this a better day."
